The missing 10 days...

Earlier this year I was poorly and missed 10 days so these are to make up for those...

Top to bottom, chunky silver bead necklace (possibly from Wallis), silver bead necklace worn as bracelet (hand made), silver and pearl necklace (hand made), purple and silver bead bracelet (present), yellow and silver bead necklace (hand made), long silver and pearl necklace (charity shop), silvery gold bead necklace (hand made), blue and silver wooden bead bracelet (hand made), silver bead necklace worn as bracelet (hand made) and long wooden bead necklace (hand made).

Day 235 - Experimental handmade ring

I call this experimental as it is a bit random and was me just trying some things out when I first tried to make rings. I kind of like its randomness although its just too impractical to get a lot of wear out of it! It reminds me a little of loads of planets all coming together, like something out of Ogre's workshop in the Dark Crystal

Day 229 - Long beaded necklace

This is another charity shop find, although it may have originally been from somewhere like Wallis. It's super long and is a mix of silver and black beads. It's hard to get a good shot of it without making my chest look humungous or my head really small - this was the best I could do!

Day 228 - Tribal silver bangle

I got this bangle from a craft fair, I like that it's a little bit tribal! It's not the best photo here but there are lots of different patterns inscribed and I like the shape of it too, its really unusual.

Day 227 - Silver heart necklace

This was the silver heart pendant I bought at the weekend from Hobbycraft which I strung on a chain last night. I am wearing a top, I promise!!

Day 198 - Sam Ubhi charm necklace

This was my first piece from Sam and I still love wearing it as often as I can. I love the mix of stones which make it work with most items of clothing I have (oddly!) and also the flower charm at the end means that it works well with floral dresses (of which I have a lot!).

Day 186 - Oasis silver bangle

This is super old, I think I got it at university. Its just a nice simple silver torque bangle from Oasis with crystals on the ends.

I'm going away for a few days for my friends wedding so I'll have to do the next few days' posts when I get back. I'll be wearing the jewllery I showed you earlier in the year (I've made it for me and my fellow bridesmaids) so you'll get to see the full effect of earrings, necklace and bracelet all together!

Day 175 - Silver flower necklace

I bought this pendant from Smitten Beads some time ago and just strung it on a simple chain. I like that its just nice and simple but because the flower is big it is quite a statement piece.

Day 172 - Silver bangles

I honestly don't know where these are from but I am going to guess that they could have been very old Accessorize purchases. We're talking about 10 years ago! I like the slightly tribal style and pattern on the disc - its really tactile but not too heavy or annoying!

Day 170 - silver handmade bracelet

I made this with what I believe may have been my first order from Smitten Beads, a very long time ago. The charm is silver and the small beads are Tibetan silver. I've just strung them on some elastic to make a very basic bracelet - but I really like the simplicity of it.

Day 162 - Compass necklace

I got this as the husband often refers to me as his compass so I thought it would be a randomly cute thing to get and then wear for him...but he really didn't like it! He's away this week though so I am rocking it anyway! I think its from Rock n Rose but I can't be 100% sure. I admit it is a completely odd necklace but I kinda love it and I can't help but think the compass could come in handy if I were to get lost. Or need to find magnetic north. Or something.
Oh, by the way, its London Jewellery Week this week...If you are in London and interested in checking it out you can find out more at http://www.jewelleryweek.com/ I was hoping to go along to a few events but I am not able to make them. There are some fab tasters and workshops - I'm especially gutted to miss out on the Tatty Devine dinosaur session!

Day 159 - Simple silver bracelet

This is really old, in fact I only found it a week or two ago as I forgot I had it! Its a nice simpe T-bar bracelet which I could hang some charms from in the future I suppose; I just like it nice and plain as more of an everyday piece of jewellery. Sometimes its nice to just stick to the old classics once in a while!

Day 140 - 'Bubble' bracelet

I call this my bubble bracelet as I think it looks a little like two-dimensional bubbles suspended in the air. I also like the fact there are different sizes and they all mix together. I have no idea where its from but its really nice to wear and not at all jingly jangly like you might expect.

Day 139 - Silver star earrings

I think my mum and dad got me these as a present although I can't be sure. I have no recollection of buying them and they are sterling silver so I am willing to bet mum and dad got them on one of their 'trips'.

I like the fact that they are slightly battered which means they reflect the light a bit more and there's also something a little bit hippy about them too!

Day 136 - Marks and Spencer earrings

These were another of the advent calendar goodies. It's not a very good picture but they are small flower shaped silver and crystal drop earrings. Nice and simple - which was handy as I have been ill this week with a nasty bug that's doing the rounds (hence why these posts are all coming up a little late - sorry!)

Day 134 - Mikey wing earrings

As I mentioned, lots of earrings this week! these babies are from Mikey in Topshop - I only have a few things from there and these are a touch blingy so I don't really wear them much. I got them just before the whole 'wing thing' got big a few years ago, and I see it has sort of come back a bit recently. Maybe I should wear them a bit more...

Day 130 - Handmade purple swarovski necklace

I confess that I made this last night when looking at my outfit for today! I used a left over Swarovski crystal (I had some left that I bought last year to make my bridesmaids' jewellery) and using a chains that arrived last week from Japan. So the majority of this necklace comes from eBay!

You'll recognise the simple style from the one I put up on here on Sunday in the jewellery masterclass. I'm wearing quite a busy outfit so I wanted something simple.

Day 128 - Multi-bead drop earrings

I have been trying to work out where these are from and I still have no idea. They are sterling silver so must be from a jewellers or maybe one of those jewellery stands you get at train stations maybe? I really like the different coloured beads and because they are glass they have a nice 'clink' to them when I move my head. I am clearly very easily pleased!

The lighting in this shot is realyl bad but in real life they are really vibrant and pretty.

Day 125 - Marks and Spencers bracelet

This was part of my aforementioned M&S jewellery advent calendar - in fact, if I remember rightly, this was one of the early pieces and then in some of the other boxes were individual charms to hang on it - I'd forgotten that when I wrote the earlier post! The major design flaw being that you can only attach the charms on the one small hook by the T-bar clasp - the clasps used to attach them are too small so you could never wear the charms attached to the actual bracelet like a full charm bracelet. I think this is a huge flaw and a real shame as I would have worn more of the charms together. However this round one is the only one that I count as being a 'go with everything' classic...its my favourite one as its sparkly!

Day 124 - laser cut earrings

I've had these for ages as I love the Lara Bohinc-ness of them but I rarely wear big earrings. However its Friday so anything goes! I think they are from Dorothy Perkins but it was probably about 8 years ago now so not sure if you can still get them. I still see similar styles around so I am sure you can find something similar!
