Day 345 - 351 and Shop of the Week

Not far to go now! My Shop of the Week this week is Amazon - partly because I've been looking up novelty Christmas hats and jumpers (amazing) but also because they do a great range of jewellery on there and its not often somewhere many of us think of to look for that kind of thing. Plus they are very good at getting things sent out in time for Christmas. They have some great brands too like Kit Heath.

This week, top to bottom; pearl and flower necklace (hand made), long teardrop necklace (Jon Richard at Debenhams), chunky green bracelet (present), gold hoop earrings (Jon Richard at Debenhams), tigers eye and flower charm necklace (hand made) and blue bead earrings (hand made).

Day 296 - 302 and Shop of the Week

We've broken the 300 mark!! I'm really excited about this as it means the end is in sight but it is freaking me out slightly that I have more than 300 pieces of jewellery! There are no rings this week you'll be glad to hear. This week I've been rooting through some old necklaces so there are quite a few really old pieces but it was nice to stumble upon them.

My Shop of the Week this week goes to Debenhams, and specifically Jon Richard. Their lovely PR team found my blog and really liked it so they sent me some bits and bobs that I'm going to be wearing between now and the end of the year. As you know I do love a bit of costume jewellery and I think if you want something on trend and a bit blingy then you can't really go wrong for the party season. Go check them out!

From top to bottom - black wooden bead necklace (think this was free with a magazine?), Simple three drop crystal necklace (maybe from a charity shop), gold square string necklace (definitely from a charity shop!), long silver shell necklace (made by me using materials from Smitten Beads), pearl bracelet made out of a long pearl necklace (not sure where this is from, silver and blue earrings (from Sam Ubhi, a present from the hubby), and long wooden multi-bead necklace (this might be from Wallis but its around 10 years old!)

Day 219 - Handmade rose quartz earrings

I made these a few summers ago and I really like the earring hook with the flower on it which matches the rose quartz stone really well. These were made by recycling some beads that came from a long rose quartz necklace that broke - I actually prefer the jewellery I was able to make from it over the original!!

Day 199 - Sam Ubhi earrings

These are so simple but I love the pale teal shade and the delicate wool work that has been done to create the almost lattice style effect. I have a matching bangle from Sam that I will be wearing shortly!

Day 196 - Sam Ubhi earrings

I absolutely love these earrings from the fabulous Sam Ubhi. They're as statement-y as I get but the detail is just amazing. They're made from one piece of silver that has been coiled-just stunning.

Day 189 - Sage green pearl earrings

These are the earrings I wore at the wedding too. All materials as before - they're nice and simple and worked perfectly with the colours. If only it hadn't rained but as it rained on my wedding day I stand by the reasoning that rain on yoru wedding day is lucky!

Day 176 - Strawberry earrings

These were a little gift from Claire at Mummybird Pretties. As it looks like we've got a hint of summer this week I thought I'd get some summery jewellery on and lets be honest, what's more summery than Wimbledon (which kicks off today) and obviously the good old strawberry!

Day 173 - Dangly earrings

Something a bit fancy for a Friday! I think these were an old Marks and Spencers sale purchase way back. I like that they are a bit different, not just plain drops, but with a bit of chain - and also not just plain black, mixing up the navy and pewter a bit. Sorry for the quality of the photo - it a bit blurry isn't it!!

Day 171 - Stunning gold and blue earrings

These are also from Mummybird Pretties and I can't tell you how much I love them. I had so many comments on these today and they are even better in the flesh than they are in photos. Claire has popped up some new pictures on her facebook pages this week, including some similar earrings to these that come in a little matching vintage tin. I had to actually restrain myself from ordering!!

Day 164 - handmade wooden earrings

I made these ages ago using some lovely wooden beads from Smitten Beads. The beads are so soft and really tactile. I made a necklace with them as well which I will wear at some point but I wish I had more as they are really nice!

Day 161 - glass bead earrings

I made these from some of the beads that were left-over from the necklace I wore yesterday. You can really see the detail in the bead in this photo and I do think it looks just like a boiled sweet!! Mmmm, sweets...!

Day 153 - Monochrome earrings

As promised, here are the matching earrings that go with yesterday's bracelet!

They're much bigger than I would normally wear but hey its the Jubilee Weekend so why not! They're a nice way of jazzing up a simple outfit and still feeling 'done'.

Day 151 - Next turquoise earrings

I think these are from Next but they are really old! I don't really get much stuff from there - not sure why to be honest as a lot of their jewellery is really nice. I like wearing this colour when its warm and sunny...it sounds like today is the last day of tropical weather so I intend to make the most of it!

Day 150 - Accessorize earrings

These were a last minute purchase one day a few years ago now - I think the earrings I was wearing broke and I hd a big meeting so wanted to look a bit polished! I like that they are quite neutral and 'go with anything' plus they feel really summery too.

Looking at the flowers on these also reminded me of my fab friend's amazing paper bouquets on Etsy! Lisa runs Ribbons and Tulle and made the most stunning paper bouquet for my mum for mothers day and I'm also getting a little one for my god-daughter as a gift to remember her mum's wedding day in a month or so. I can't wait to see it - I love the fact they'll never die and are such a stunning keepsake!

Day 148 - Blue and purple beaded earrings

I got these at the same time that I purchased these earrings I wore a little while ago. They're quite similar but I really like the blue crackle beads in these earrings. I think if I saw them in a shop I wouldn't be that fussed but actually when they're used I think they look really fab. I also found the matching bracelet when I was looking for these so I think I'll wear that tomorrow!

Day 141 - Accessorize earrings

I got these in the sale in Accessorize a while ago - I love the sales in there and often pick up a few bits when they are 70% off - and these were one of those bargains! They're a pale gold colour so are great for sunny days which I heard today was supposed to be...although I haven't seen anything other than clouds just yet...!

Day 139 - Silver star earrings

I think my mum and dad got me these as a present although I can't be sure. I have no recollection of buying them and they are sterling silver so I am willing to bet mum and dad got them on one of their 'trips'.

I like the fact that they are slightly battered which means they reflect the light a bit more and there's also something a little bit hippy about them too!

Day 138 - Accessorize earrings

These are initially a bit 'punky' for my tastes but they were a present and actually I really love them. Much like this necklace I wouldn't have picked them out but now I have them they've opened me up to slightly more tougher jewellery which I particularly like wearing with a nice girly floral dress.

Day 136 - Marks and Spencer earrings

These were another of the advent calendar goodies. It's not a very good picture but they are small flower shaped silver and crystal drop earrings. Nice and simple - which was handy as I have been ill this week with a nasty bug that's doing the rounds (hence why these posts are all coming up a little late - sorry!)

Day 134 - Mikey wing earrings

As I mentioned, lots of earrings this week! these babies are from Mikey in Topshop - I only have a few things from there and these are a touch blingy so I don't really wear them much. I got them just before the whole 'wing thing' got big a few years ago, and I see it has sort of come back a bit recently. Maybe I should wear them a bit more...
