Day 359 - 366: so close but yet...!

Oh my, day 366 (I should have figured that 2012 was a leap year really and called this the Jewellery 366 challenge)...

There is no Shop of the Week as if this blog has taught me anything it's that we don't need shops! I have almost made it through, there will be two more posts after this...one to cover off the missing 10 days from earlier this year and then one to sum up the whole challenge.

But in the meantime, lets see what festive delights I've worn this week! Top to bottom; blue bead necklace (hand made), flower bracelet (Jon Richard), crystal necklace (Marks and Spencer), gold and purple bangles (Jon Richard), stone and bead necklace (present),multi stone bracelet (Evans), bead and string bracelet (Marks and Spencer) and black and silver bib necklace (Marks and Spencer).

 

 

Day 263-267 - Summary and Shop of the Week

I've been busy sorting out my silver rings so I think its safe to say that they're going to see me through to October!! For the rest of this week I've been rocking a few longer necklaces in anticipation for my ring-session. So from top to bottom and left to right, I've been wearing: Wallis blue and brown mixed stone long necklace, Oasis clear crystal long necklace, short blue shell necklace (not sure where it's from) and black and silver multi-strand necklace that was a present from a friend.

 

My Shop of the Week this week goes to the fabulous Heidi Seeker. Someone I'm following on Twitter mentioned them and I have fallen in love. I have been wondering if they'd do one of their name necklaces for me saying 'Word2yamutha' on it (i'm slightly obsessed with Vanilla Ice) and what with the whole baby thing happening it seems like a good idea. That could be the hormones though!! I love their stuff and can't wait for the day I can spend money on jewellery again...





Day 239 - Barcelona ring

This is the other ring I got when I was out in Barcelona. sorry, it's a really bad picture isn't it! I know the colours are a bit girly but I like the pastel shades and how they glint in the sun.

Day 234 - gold and crystal ring

I think this was from somewhere like Debenhams, and I have to confess I think it might have been a present from an ex! Eeek, probably why I don't really wear it! It's a bit too blingy for me but it looks pretty enough on. 

Day 223 - Swarovski crystal necklace

I made this using a silver chain and a swarovski bead I found. I think one of my friends may have given me the bead about 15 years ago when we went through a teenage jewellery-making phase and then when I re-discovered it I thought I should put it to good use!! It is a bit blingy for me but would be a nice piece to wear to a special event, especially in the summer as when the light catches it, the reflections are really pretty.

Day 214 - Crystal ring from Barcelona

I went to Barcelona with four friends for my 25th Birthday and bought this ring from a stall out there. I bought a pink and purple one too which I might wear soon! It's pretty cheap and cheerful but it reminds me of a great birthday and fun break which was definitely needed at the time! Even if we did stay in an apartment with the most terrifying shower curtain ever... 

Day 195 - Crystal necklace

I bought this stone from the Swarovski shop in central London and strung it on wire with some matching seed beads. I don't really like it that much as the beads don't sit as well as I'd hoped, but the stone is really pretty which makes up for it!

Day 136 - Marks and Spencer earrings

These were another of the advent calendar goodies. It's not a very good picture but they are small flower shaped silver and crystal drop earrings. Nice and simple - which was handy as I have been ill this week with a nasty bug that's doing the rounds (hence why these posts are all coming up a little late - sorry!)

Day 134 - Mikey wing earrings

As I mentioned, lots of earrings this week! these babies are from Mikey in Topshop - I only have a few things from there and these are a touch blingy so I don't really wear them much. I got them just before the whole 'wing thing' got big a few years ago, and I see it has sort of come back a bit recently. Maybe I should wear them a bit more...

Day 98 - Sparkly bangle

This isn't a matching set with the necklace I wore yesterday but I got it to complement it and I think they work really well together. This was from Glitzy Secrets and it's only costume jewellery but I think it looks more expensive than it was - which is always a bonus!

Day 97 - Sparkly swirls necklace

Keeping on the theme of presents from the Husband this was the very first one he got me. Well, half got me. I saw it when I was over in Northern Ireland for work the week before my birthday and totally fell in love with it. It was too expensive for me to justify a bit of self gifting and we'd only been together a few months so I didn't expect him to buy it outright so we went halves. I love it so much - its such a striking design and its so tactile as well. 

Day 63 - stacking bracelets

I can't remember where these are from - they were one of my many pre-wedding purchases that I thought might work for my bridesmaids but I decided to keep for myself! I think they may be from Aldo or Oasis.

I like that the pewter finish makes them look a little like branches of a tree and that the stones are quite sparse and simple. They are a bit too jangly to be able to wear them a lot but when I do wear them you can certainly hear me coming!
