We've broken the 300 mark!! I'm really excited about this as it means the end is in sight but it is freaking me out slightly that I have more than 300 pieces of jewellery! There are no rings this week you'll be glad to hear. This week I've been rooting through some old necklaces so there are quite a few really old pieces but it was nice to stumble upon them.
My Shop of the Week this week goes to Debenhams, and specifically Jon Richard. Their lovely PR team found my blog and really liked it so they sent me some bits and bobs that I'm going to be wearing between now and the end of the year. As you know I do love a bit of costume jewellery and I think if you want something on trend and a bit blingy then you can't really go wrong for the party season. Go check them out!
From top to bottom - black wooden bead necklace (think this was free with a magazine?), Simple three drop crystal necklace (maybe from a charity shop), gold square string necklace (definitely from a charity shop!), long silver shell necklace (made by me using materials from Smitten Beads), pearl bracelet made out of a long pearl necklace (not sure where this is from, silver and blue earrings (from Sam Ubhi, a present from the hubby), and long wooden multi-bead necklace (this might be from Wallis but its around 10 years old!)
This is a charity shop purchase and its so long! I have doubled it up as it is today, but it would be swinging by my knees if I wore it full length! Its on antique brass chain and then its got pale pink and pale green pearls and then every so often a teal glass bead - a rather random selection of colours which is why I'm wearing it with black!
I got this ages ago and always think of it as my summer necklace! the lighting is really bad but its basically a long pewter/brass chain with various charms hanging from it, most of which are turquoise - and then at the end it has a charm that looks like an animal tooth. Its very random but I really like it!
This is a Wallis necklace from a few years ago - and yes I am wearing the stripy dress again. Its pretty much the only thing I own with a relatively high neck so needs a long necklace and also it helps to break up the stripes too!
This necklace is like the Mikey one in that the tassels are really therapeutic to play with in meetings...!
Another Accessorize purchase! This was in the sale a couple of years ago - I usually wear it long but today I fancied wearing it shorter. I've noticed a lot of people wearing grey at the moment, in fact my entire train carriage yesterday was made up of all grey outfits! I like the fact this mixes up greys and silvers with pale sage green beads and off white pearls. It's a real 'goes with anything' necklace.
I actually made this first thing this morning - I had meant to make it yesterday but as I mentioned, I was pooped. I used all the findings from Smitten Beads that I got a week or two ago, and it literally took me a few minutes! All I needed to do was to make two jump rings from some wire I had, cut the chain to length, then use one ring to close the chain into a loop (making it a necklace) and then use the other ring to attach the key to the chain. I really like it although I may attach a bead to it so its not just the key on its own.
It's also meant I've been singing this song all day too!
This was one of my charity shop finds. The light is realyl bad but I was in a huge rush this morning so I couldn't re-take the photo! It's a 5 strange long necklace made up of different size grey beads all strung at different lengths. This dress, whilst lovely, can be a bit 'blocky' so it's nice to wear something long to break it up a bit.
