The missing 10 days...

Earlier this year I was poorly and missed 10 days so these are to make up for those...

Day 345 - 351 and Shop of the Week

Not far to go now! My Shop of the Week this week is Amazon - partly because I've been looking up novelty Christmas hats and jumpers (amazing) but also because they do a great range of jewellery on there and its not often somewhere many of us think of to look for that kind of thing. Plus they are very good at getting things sent out in time for Christmas. They have some great brands too like Kit Heath.

This week, top to bottom; pearl and flower necklace (hand made), long teardrop necklace (Jon Richard at Debenhams), chunky green bracelet (present), gold hoop earrings (Jon Richard at Debenhams), tigers eye and flower charm necklace (hand made) and blue bead earrings (hand made).

Day 331 - 337 and Shop of the Week

Still working through the necklace stash...I'll be moving on to bracelets soon!

 

As I get bigger and more obviously pregnant (plus its almost been six years since I met my husband) my thoughts are turning to personalised jewellery that really symbolises something special like an anniversary or the birth of a child...so this week my Shop of the Week is Chambers and Beau - I can't find one thing I don't want on their website!! I want it all!

 

This week (I've been wearing (top to bottom); Owl necklace (Topshop), multi stone necklace (can't remember where this is from!), multi-strand bead necklace (from antique shop), black and grey bead necklace (hand made), shades of brown pearls multi-strand necklace (hand made), purple bead and hematite bead necklace (hand made) and butterfly crystal necklace (present).  

 

Day 207 - pearl double strand necklace

I made this a few years ago to wear to a wedding and then changed my mind at the last minute and I don't think I've worn it since so it's nice to give it an outing. I don't like wearing anything too heavy when the weather is so nice so this is perfect.

Day 190 - Sage green pearl bracelet

This is the last of my wedding jewellery posts! This was the matching bracelet I made for us all to wear, and as before the pearls are from Smitten Beads.

Normal jewellery service will presume again shortly...!

Day 189 - Sage green pearl earrings

These are the earrings I wore at the wedding too. All materials as before - they're nice and simple and worked perfectly with the colours. If only it hadn't rained but as it rained on my wedding day I stand by the reasoning that rain on yoru wedding day is lucky! 

Day 188 - Sage green pearl necklace

Today one of my best friends got married, and as I was bridesmaid she asked me to make the jewellery for myself and the other bridesmaids.

Working with her on designs and colours we settled on a simple pearl bracelet, single drop earrings and a simple single drop necklace.

Obviously I wore them all at the same time but I'll feature each one over three days so you can see them in all their glory.



You'll recognise this as I did a simple master class earlier in the year. I used chain bought in bulk from eBay and the pearls are from Smitten Beads.

And here is a photo (right) of my and my friend just after she lef the church - you can see me wearing the necklace.

Doesn't she look amazing?! I did her make up and I have to say that I am really pleased with how it came out. Obviously that's not why she looked so stunning but I like to think that I helped make her day a little bit easier and therefore a whole lot more enjoyable.

Day 146 - Oyster and pearl bracelet

The idea to do this came to me when I made the oyster necklace and I love the irony of having an oyster charm hanging on a pearl bracelet!


The pearl bracelet is just a simple one I made ages ago and I added the charm to it using a silver jump ring. Nice and simple and it makes me chuckle too!

Day 133 - Vintage pearl and marquisite earrings

These are stunning aren't they? They were from my great aunt, who was also my godmother (I wrote about her before here and here). I don't really wear these as they are clip on earrings and I worry about them coming loose and losing them. I think its sad when that happens as jewellery was made to be worn not hidden away but some things are just too precious. They really are so beautiful...whilst I do tend to buy a lot of costume pieces I sometimes stumble across some vintage gems like these and you can just tell they will outlive everything else. I have no idea when these will have come from but I know that they've probably had one hell of a life!

Day 104 - Oyster necklace

I made this myself today - I was really impressed with some jewellery making supplies that I ordered yesterday from Smitten Beads and they arrived this morning! You'll see a few more of the new creations next week...I really like this charm so decided to string it on a necklace although I may get another and string it on a pearl bracelet!
